Motel 6-Mammoth Lakes, CA

Mammoth Lakes Motel 6 manager Dennis was fantastic. When we arrived, the motel was having a bad day because one of the cable TV lines to an entire block of rooms had stopped working (not Motel 6's fault, just one of those fluke things); and on top of that their digital check-in system was not working correctly (again just a technical fluke, not the accommodation's fault). This affected my reservation in that I couldn't be checked into a premium room that I had booked (premium rooms come with kitchen facilities that are invaluable when travelling with children). Dennis tried to get the digital system to work, then he called booking.com twice to see if they could find me alternative accommodation of a similar standard. (The first time the call was cut off, the second time booking.com reached the conclusion that they were unable to help me.) After that, Dennis got creative and worked with his team to convert one of the standard rooms into a premium room by adding the kitchen facilities I needed. He then also gave me a voucher for a future complimentary night's stay. So not only did Dennis manage to fulfill my original booking, he then gave me something awesome on top of it! I couldn't be happier with how he resolved the situation. The room itself was great: spotlessly clean, warm, piping hot water, everything worked, and very comfortable beds with super soft pillows.

Friendly and helpful reception staff, rooms are small but exceptionally well designed and appointed, clean room and comfortable beds, good location between downtown and recreational activities

The rooms are fully remodeled. Bed where comfortable and towels were super white. Housekeeping ladies were on top of it. I asked for extra towels, and I got them immediately. I loved that they are pet friendly.

We loved this place. Perfect for a couple, though there are two queen-size beds. Cozy, with cable TV built into the wall with 2 HBO channels, a mini-fridge with large freezer, ironing board & iron, hair-dryer in the wall next to the sink, good-sized table with booth-like lounge chair built into wall plus one chair, 7 clothes hangars built into wall, micro-wave and good sized tub/shower. And a coffee pot with all the fixings. This place is DOG FRIENDLY, with areas set aside for them to poop with doggy-bag dispenser. The Post Office is next door, usually empty, so plenty of room to walk fido. Directly across the street, there are many shops and places to eat, but you could literally just stay in your room for all your meals. Cool staff and reasonable rates make this a place I would gladly return to. And we are from Maui, so we know the vacation industry well. This more than met our expectations. Steve & Chrissy Lysen
